Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Robotic Total Station (RTS) Surveyor to join our team. The RTS Surveyor will be responsible for conducting accurate surveys and measurements to support our electrical installation projects. This position requires proficiency in operating Robotic Total Stations and a strong understanding of surveying principles and techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Surveying and Data Collection:
o Conduct detailed surveys using Robotic Total Station equipment to obtain accurate measurements of sites.
o Collect and record precise data for layout, alignment, and elevation of electrical installations.
o Verify and cross-check measurements to ensure accuracy and reliability.
2. Site Preparation and Layout:
o Prepare and set up RTS equipment on-site, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
o Establish control points and benchmarks for reference throughout the project.
o Mark and stake out locations for electrical components, conduits, and fixtures based on project plans and specifications.
3. Collaboration and Communication:
o Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to understand project requirements and objectives.
o Provide clear and accurate information to the installation team to facilitate efficient and precise electrical installations.
o Communicate any discrepancies or challenges encountered during surveys to relevant stakeholders.
4. Quality Control and Assurance:
o Ensure all survey data meets industry standards and project specifications.
o Conduct regular checks and validations to maintain the integrity and accuracy of survey data.
o Assist in troubleshooting and resolving any issues related to measurements or alignment during the installation process.
5. Documentation and Reporting:
o Maintain detailed records of survey data, including field notes, sketches, and digital files.
o Prepare and submit comprehensive survey reports, including maps, diagrams, and other relevant documentation.
o Update project records and databases with accurate and up-to-date information.
6. Safety and Compliance:
o Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while conducting surveys on construction sites.
o Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to surveying and construction.
o Participate in safety meetings and training sessions as required.
Qualifications:
· Proven experience as a Surveyor, preferably with a focus on electrical installations.
· Proficiency in operating Robotic Total Stations and related surveying equipment.
· Strong understanding of surveying principles, techniques, and best practices.
· Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and analysis.
· Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members.
· Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
· Knowledge of relevant software and tools for data processing and reporting (e.g., AutoCAD, Trimble, Leica).
Preferred Skills:
· Certification or licensure as a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) or equivalent. preferred
· Experience with GPS and GIS technology.
· Familiarity with construction and electrical installation processes.
