Our client is a top general contractor and developer seeking a talented Assistant Project Manager in Fort Myers, FL. They offer a competitive salary + bonus, excellent benefits, and additional perks!

The ideal candidate has the following:
  • Commercial project experience (municipal – highly desired: schools, city buildings, higher education)
  • Looking for candidates currently working for a medium or large general contractor or developer.
  • Ground and remodel experience (both)
  • Looking for “A” players with stable work history.
  • Procore software knowledge and usage
  • Must be willing and able to travel. All projects are within an hour or so of Fort Myers, FL. 
What you’ll do:

  • Assist the project manager in creating a schedule of construction activities, their sequence, organizational structure, staff selection, and the workforce and construction equipment requirements needed to complete the project.
  • Support the project manager/engineer in their duties by ensuring timely shipment of materials and permanent equipment, and obtaining approvals of shop drawings and material samples.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors to enable them to carry out their work efficiently and in sync with project schedules and progress.
  • Promptly inform all supervisors and subcontractors of any changes to the construction schedule.
  • Contribute to preparing all job progress and cost reports to ensure that they accurately reflect actual costs.
  • Review and approve all requisitions, field purchase orders, invoices, and other significant reports and documents.
  • Collaborate with the owner and their representatives, informing them of construction progress.
  • Maintain a positive relationship with architects or owner representatives while ensuring the long-term interests of the company.
  • Conduct job site meetings with the regional manager and project manager.
  • Report to the project manager regularly to keep them informed of job progress, plans, and any issues that could significantly affect costs or schedules.
  • Keep a daily diary to record all significant project facts, events, conditions, visitors, owner-representative contacts, commitments, agreements, and approvals.
  • Ensure strict adherence to the company's safety program in all phases and areas of the project.
