As a Lumber Grader, you will be responsible for overseeing the stacking of lumber and reporting the quality of the lumber to the supervisor. You will be inspecting and grading logs, estimating the amount of value or marketable content in the logs, and sorting the logs following NHLA and SPIB rules and customer specifications. In addition, you will operate log loading equipment such as Knuckle Boom and Front-End Loaders and maintain a constant observation of safety. Other duties as assigned. Hours 6am-6pm.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in the lumber industry preferred
- Familiar with the NHLA and SPIB rules and standards
- Good communication skills verbal and written, and basic math skills.
- Must have good vision. Demanding to perform this job.
- Able to stand, bend, and reach without weight bearing load, for extended periods and throughout the scheduled shift.
