Electrical Engineer
Atlanta, GA
 
This position will play an integral role in new electronic module development, design processes and quality/reliability implementation.  Works closely with a crossfunctional team to ensure electronics design is seamlessly integrated with LED modules targeted for luminaire systems.  Responsible for appropriately securing Intellectual Property for our company while concurrently developing technical relationships with key suppliers.
 
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Lead integration of electronics within our evolving module portfolio
  • Create industryleading, scalable electronic designs with flexible features at costappropriate levels
  • Develop, grow, and sustain key technical partnerships with electronic assembly suppliers
  • Oversight of both designbuild and buildtoprint relationships
  • Integrate innovative electronic controls and communication into LED systems
  • Participate in developing a robust module design process, including quality and reliability objectives
Other Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the execution of marketing plans of companies as required
  • Support and participate in all company initiatives
  • Ability to visually detect subtle differences in color, detect differences in hues and variance of white
Qualifications:
  • Analog/Digital hardware design of electronic assemblies, especially power supplies
  • Experience in crossfunctional teams developing new products
  • Proficiency in developing specifications for engineering validation testing
  • Proficiency with electronic design automation (EDA) tools for schematic and printed circuit design
  • Experience with embedded control architecture including firmware design and validation
  • Working knowledge of electronic regulatory standards, especially UL/CSA
  • Familiarity with DFM (design for manufacturability) and DFSS (design for Six Sigma)
Education & Experience:
  • B.S. in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
  • 5+ Years of Experience
  • Experience with ACinput circuit, design, simulation, and testing
  • Experience with electronic manufacturing processes
  • Quality systems, reliability, planning and analysis
  • Design, development and manufacturing of micro controllerbased electronic products
  • Experience with EMC and EMI compliance
