- Manage the full-cycle payroll process for both union and non-union employees across multiple office locations.
- Ensure payroll compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations, including the Francis Bacon Act.
- Accurately calculate wages, benefits, overtime, and deductions in accordance with union agreements and company policies.
- Liaise with union representatives to ensure correct processing of union-related deductions, benefits, and wage agreements.
- Work closely with HR to verify employee status (union/non-union), tax forms, and deductions to maintain payroll accuracy.
- Maintain and update payroll records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Handle employee inquiries related to pay, benefits, and deductions.
- Collaborate with senior leadership and finance teams to ensure budgetary alignment and effective allocation of resources.
- Stay current on changes in payroll regulations, union agreements, and the Francis Bacon Act to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Prepare and submit necessary payroll reports to regulatory agencies and stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Proven experience as a Payroll Manager, Payroll Specialist, or similar role, preferably in the construction or demolition industry.
- Strong understanding of union and non-union payroll, including collective bargaining agreements and applicable labor laws.
- In-depth knowledge of the Francis Bacon Act and its impact on payroll practices in the construction industry.
- Proficient in payroll software and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with employees, union representatives, and management.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- A degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field is preferred, but not required.
