Production Engineer
Indianapolis, IN
We are seeking a motivated Production Engineer to support the setup, optimization, and ongoing
efficiency of our new manufacturing line and future production lines as we expand our operations. This role will be instrumental in transferring the production process from our German facility, ensuring smooth integration, optimizing workflows for quality and efficiency, and preparing for future product line implementations to support our long-term growth.

Responsibilities:
Production Line Implementation:
• Coordinate the transfer of production equipment and processes from Germany, ensuring minimal
disruption and adherence to timelines.
• Establish standardized procedures and workflows to ensure efficient production ramp-up and
operational stability.
• Work closely with engineering and operations teams to troubleshoot and resolve any startup
challenges.
 
Process Optimization:
• Analyze and refine production processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance
product quality.
• Implement manufacturing processes to meet company standards and continuous improvement
methodologies.
• Monitor production data to identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to optimize
performance.
 
Equipment & Layout Planning:
• Assist in selecting and installing manufacturing equipment to meet production requirements and
company standards.
• Design an optimized facility layout that enhances workflow, efficiency, and safety.
• Ensure all necessary infrastructure, including utilities and material flow, is in place for a smooth
production launch.
 
Technical Support:
• Provide hands-on troubleshooting support for production-related issues, ensuring minimal
downtime.
 Work with maintenance teams to implement preventive maintenance plans and reduce
equipment failures.
• Assist in the integration of automation and digital tools to enhance production capabilities.
 
Quality Control:
• Collaborate with the Quality team to establish and maintain rigorous company quality standards.
• Conduct root cause analysis for defects and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations, certifications, and customer requirements.
 
Cross-functional Collaboration:
• Work closely with engineering, supply chain, and operations teams to align production goals with
business objectives.
• Coordinate with logistics and procurement to ensure timely availability of materials and
components.
• Support communication and knowledge transfer between the German and US teams to
ensure seamless production transition.
 
Training and Documentation:
• Develop comprehensive training programs for production operators, technicians, and
maintenance staff.
• Create detailed standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to ensure consistency in manufacturing processes.
• Conduct training sessions and workshops to ensure personnel are well-versed in safety, quality,
and operational best practices.
 
Technical Skills:
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, and continuous improvement techniques.
• Experience with manufacturing automation, testing equipment, and assembly processes.
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD) for layout design is a plus.
• Familiarity with PLC programming and industrial automation systems is beneficial.
Understanding quality control standards, regulatory compliance, and ISO certifications is a plus.
 
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent
experience).
• 3+ years of experience in a production engineering role, preferably in an industrial or
manufacturing setting.
• Experience in setting up and optimizing production lines, with knowledge of process improvement
methodologies.
• Prior experience in relocating, installing, or commissioning manufacturing equipment is a plus .
Additional Requirements:
• Willingness to travel to Germany for training and knowledge transfer as needed.
• Ability to work in a hands-on production environment, including standing, lifting, and operating
machinery.
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
