We are seeking a highly skilled Controller with experience in construction accounting. This critical role involves overseeing all financial operations and ensuring accurate financial reporting based on GAAP standards. You must understand accounting principles, financial analysis, and construction industry-specific regulations. A high level of integrity and ethics in handling confidential financial information is essential. Regional relocation offered for applicants in Indiana and Michigan.

Requirements
  • +5 years of accounting experience.  
  • Experience with Construction Accounting preferred.  
  • Proficient in -Construction job cost accounting. Unit price Contruction accounting. Internal payroll. Tax. Amortizing equipment and costing
  • Able to forecast and drive strategic initiatives in the business
  • Familiar with Spectrum construction accounting software preferred
  • Ability to work with external CPA’s

What You’ll Do
  • Financial Reporting – Prepare and analyze financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Provide regular financial reports to partners and management highlighting key performance indicators and financial trends.  
  • Financial Operations Management – Oversee staff in the accounts payable and receivable functions. Manage the firm’s billing process. Monitor cash flow. Establish and enforce financial policies and procedures.  
  • Supervision, leadership, and training of accounting personnel.  
  • Compliance and Audit – Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, financial reporting standards, and industry specific regulations.
  • Coordinate and support external CPA firm.  
  • Maintain proper documentation and records to facilitate audits and financial reviews.
