The BIM Modeler will oversee the creation, management, and quality control of 3D models, collaborating closely with project teams, architects, and engineers to ensure project requirements and client expectations are met. This role also includes implementing BIM standards, troubleshooting software issues, and developing sustainable design solutions to support Waldrop’s commitment to environmental stewardship.


Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management and BIM Standards: Manage and coordinate BIM protocols from design to project completion. Develop, implement, and maintain standards to ensure model consistency across projects.
  • Model Creation and Quality Control: Create, maintain, and review 3D models to ensure they meet project specifications, integrating imagery and shop drawings as needed for detailed plans.
  • Collaboration with Project Teams: Work closely with project manager, architects, engineers, and field personnel to ensure accuracy in model data, alignment with project goals, and smooth coordination between departments.
  • Client Interaction: Communicate regularly with clients and internal teams to provide updates, address project needs, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Software Management: Manage software licenses, install and update BIM tools, and research new software to maintain cutting-edge project capabilities.
 
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in BIM management, model coordination, or HVAC design, with a focus on commercial projects preferred.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of BIM software, including Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
  • Construction Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction standards, mechanical codes, and energy-efficiency principles.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent troubleshooting and critical thinking skills, with a proactive approach to resolving BIM issues.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with clients, field personnel, and design teams, ensuring alignment with project objectives and customer needs.
