As the Machine Shop Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the team that operates and programs CNC machines to produce high-precision parts and components as per specifications. The ideal candidate should be a skilled CNC machinist. Additionally, the Machine Shop Manager will create work schedules, assign tasks, and conduct training to ensure that customer quality standards and delivery deadlines are met. This role will ensure quality, efficiency, and safety throughout the machining process. This is a 2nd shift position working 3pm-11pm.  


Requirements  

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree in machining or related field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a CNC Machinist.
  • Proficient in CNC programming (G-code, M-code) and Mastercam.
  • Understanding of machining processes and materials. Experience with CAD/CAM software is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., CNC Machining, ISO standards) are preferred.

What You’ll Do  

  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior machinists, providing guidance and support to enhance team skills and performance.
  • Oversee the direction, performance management and coordination of department staff to achieve operational goals.  
  • Machine Operation: Set up, operate, and maintain CNC machines (e.g., lathes, mills) to produce precision parts.
  • Programming: Efficient in programming with Mastercam and able to G code program.
  • Quality Control: Perform inspections using precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers) to ensure parts meet quality standards.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues with machinery and machining processes to minimize downtime.  
  • Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance on CNC machines to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
